After two days of rest and recovery I headed for Buchholz. My backpack was filled with new dry food and some chocolate and my spirits were high. The week will be full of Couchsurfing and, hopefully, interesting meetings with strangers that perhaps will become friends.

In the evening I met Tobias Schmidt who had been travelling around the world when he was young. He had wonderful and horrifying stories to tell. He was a very nice man and we talked for a some two hours. Time well spent! Later on I met my Couchsurfing host, Quentin Weber, and we went out to have supper. He also has done some extensive travelling and he shared some stories from Israel, Venezuela and more. It’s truly remarkable to sit and listen to someone with experiences that I’ll be able to learn from for my own journey. The

evening was a delight and tomorrow I’m heading for Tostedt!
