Today of all days it seems more important than in a long time to press the fact learned during the Pilgrimage for Peace in 2012/13. Especially so since Steps for Christianity now is getting traction over in USA and lots and lots of people are getting onboard the project from over there.

The population of a country is not the same as the government of that country. This truth is also applicable for individuals vs groups. During the previous walk Jörgen met so many wonderful people and not a single really bad one. On an individual level each and everyone of us is, more likely than not, is a quite decent and good person.

Without going into politics, as you all know Steps for Christianity is strictly unpolitical, we think it would be fair to send our thanks to all the loving people in the USA. You know who you are, and your commitment to the project is truly heart warming and this is the proof that the people of a country not necessarily are the same as one single leader.

You have shown compassion and genuine care for people many thousands of miles away and you have done so with no expectation of reward or ulterior motive. You have done it because you care.

I dag av alla dagar känns det viktigare än på länge att trycka på en lärdom från pilgrimsfärden 2012/13. Särskilt så eftersom Steps for Christianity nu håller på att ta fart i USA och många människor kommer ombord i projektet därifrån.

Befolkningen i ett land är inte densamma som landets regering. Denna sanning är också tillämplig för individer och grupper. Under den föregående vandringen träffade Jörgen så många underbara människor och inte en enda riktigt dålig. På en individuell nivå är var och en av oss, mer troligt än inte, en ganska anständig och bra person.

Utan att gå in på politik, som ni alla vet är Steps for Christianity strikt opolitiskt, tycker vi att det skulle vara rättvist att tacka alla kärleksfulla människor i USA. Ni vet vilka ni är och ert engagemang för projektet är verkligen hjärtvärmande och detta är beviset på att folket i ett land inte nödvändigtvis är samma som en enda ledare.

Ni har visat medkänsla och äkta omsorg för människor tusentals mil bort och ni har gjort det utan att förvänta er belöning eller med någon baktanke. Ni har gjort det för att ni bryr dig.
