Going backwards…

Going backwards…

The walk is stretching over +8000 kilometers, approximately 4350 miles, through no less than 18 countries(Syria twice!) and it will take some nine months to do!

Setting out a plan for this enormous task and expecting it to come true is just foolish. Nonetheless there has got to be a plan, something to out line the journey. All project has a beginning and an end. In this particular case the end is a very important one.

When reaching the Holy land there will be several high end events. These will include prominent guests from all over the world, maybe you will be there too! Then you will need accommodation, we will need to prepare your stay during the events.

Just after the arrival and entering Damascus Gate there will be what is called a Chapter General within the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem. This is a week long gathering of knights and dames from all over the world as well as friends to the Order.

All of this must be squeezed in between the celebrations of Easter, the latin as well as the orthodox. Jerusalem is a boiling kettle during these festivities affecting hotel rooms, restaurants, accessibility to holy places etc etc.

So, as you probably understand, the planning right now is going backwards…starting from the end. This fact will put Jörgen under enormous stress during the walk. There will be literally no room for hick ups along the way. No illnesses, no extra staying in interesting places.

This was the case also during the last walk. Rebecca made up the weekly plan with places to stay for the night and Jörgen just had to keep up with the plan. Sore feet count for nothing when the schedule rules.

Do you want to join us? The last day of walking from Jericho up the hills to Jerusalem will be available for Catalyst Donors and major contributors. Sharing the honour and glory when we reach the Holy City!
